PROMOTE & HIRE COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS:

Local jazz ensembles that are associated with Eugene's traditional music institutions are relatively well represented.  However, in recent times there have not been any non-affiliated advocates providing support services to the majority of Eugene's southern Willamette Valley community-based jazz groups and solo artists.  As a result, non-collegiate ensembles and musicians have been left to maintain and market their music to both commercial venues and non-profits entirely on their own.  There has essentially been no home for an easily accessible listing of moderate to long term community-based jazz groups, Therefore, to fill this gap one mission of the Eugene Jazz Jam is to provide an alphabetically organized listing of Eugene's non-collegiate and active performing groups along with solo artists.  [Note: the Eugene Jazz Jam would be willing to consider providing a Directory of all members of our local jazz musician community should it be deemed an appropriate service. What is your opinion?]  Let's all endeavor to keep this group listing in the eyes and minds of local venues, other community organizations, non-profit groups, and your fellow musicians… all those who sponsor and conduct performances, shows and events.   The Eugene Jazz Jam certainly appreciates you doing your part!   In this way, those who hire local groups will have one easy and efficient way to find yours, as well as those of your fellow jazz players.  Please feel free to suggest any other services that may be of assistance to you and your group.  Thank you.

Does your jazz group want to be on the list?  If so, please forward (through our Contact Page) your group's name, the names of group members (musicians and instruments played), method(s) of being contacted (including Email), style(s) of music performed, and links to your group's media.  The Eugene Jazz Jam will verify that your group is composed mostly of non-collegiate players.  We will then contact your group regarding its suitability for this list,  Upon acceptance, your information will appear on this page.

Be advised: Each calendar quarter, all listed jazz groups will be contacted through the Email address provided.  Note that the Eugene Jazz Jam will rely on the group's Email representative to reply, stating that the group remains active.  Any group who does not reply in the affirmative will be deleted from the list, 7 days after contact is initiated.  This measure helps all active groups by ensuring that correct information is being offered to potential hiring parties.

Thank you!
