Your new venue… The Hybrid
Once in a while…
… a group or player simply nails a tune, something that both the musician(s) and our jazz community can take pride in. Now, we all know that dedicated musicians continue to improve their technical skills and expand their creative expression… their mission being to make their sound their own. So we will grant that the majority of the time, a recording is but one event, a point along the way. Perhaps a musician even feels that it's their next, upcoming performance that will truly show their best playing. Regardless, all recordings are a valuable tool for musicians to have for determining what to work on next in both their playing and performance. And they register a moment in time in the history of jazz music and its unique society. Thus, each upcoming Eugene Jazz Jam will be selectively video recorded and converted to You Tubes, with links to our events recordings (by session date) provided on this page. Wishing you all excellent playing, performance, big-ears listening and continued excellence… within and our great south Willamette Valley and beyond.
